Speak Your K.I.N.D.™ : How it all started.
Updated: May 13, 2022
When your story is spoken in K.I.N.D.™, you change your life; you change the world!
The spark for Speak Your K.I.N.D.™ originated in 2017.
Throughout history, women have endured hardships and injustices that are not brought to light. They think or believe that hidden in darkness, those hardships and injustices will vanish, that they will be forgotten. Some women are conditioned to think this way, others may choose to do so, but as for any grand truth, history speaks otherwise. Not only do these hardships and injustices not vanish; not only are they not forgotten; but they actually stay with these women forever. What these women hope will be forgotten actually becomes them. These events, and especially the memory of them, affect women not only psychologically and physiologically, but also biologically. Yes! These hidden injustices and the memory of them change the biology of women – they change women at the cellular level! These women are never the same.
So powerful are the hidden forces of these memories that these women become invisible – invisible to the most important person in the world: themselves. While they do nurture relationships, build families, engage in volunteer work, run business, become CEO’s, etc.– doing it all simultaneously – they are invisible to their own self. Some, mistakenly, do so much precisely to be seen in their own eyes. They mistakenly confuse doing with being, with existing. Others, simply give up - on their dreams, their health, their very existence. Regardless of the reasons these women engage or disengage with life in the ways that they do, they all share something very profound…. Silence. They suffer in silence, and it is this silence that makes the suffering unbearable. It is this silence that makes them invisible, maybe not always to the world, but always to themselves. As Prof. Ellie Wiesel states, “Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented."
Suffering is not disgraceful, nor is it shameful. On the contrary, suffering is a vital part of life and none of us is immune to it, but suffering takes a completely different meaning when it is spoken and heard. In the light of this realization, I swore to never to be silent whenever and wherever a girl or woman endures suffering and humiliation. And I swore to extend myself to her and help her rise above her suffering, not despite of her suffering, but because of it.
And that is how Speak Your KIND started - with the simple, yet healing, notion of speaking, of not keeping silent, of vocalizing your emotions and hearing yourself in the process. And while doing so, do not just speak, but infuse your speaking with your kindness, your imagination, your nurturing soul, your dreams. Your voice gives a whole new dimension to all these elements, and they give a whole new meaning to your life.
Your voice fueled by your kindness, imagination, nurturing soul and dreams creates your life!
I strongly believe that as women, we have a responsibility to each other to not only support and uplift one another, but also to listen to each other's stories, so that no woman has to suffer in silence. And...
